Minor earthquake shakes Dallas overnight; no damage reported
Dallas, TX - A minor earthquake shook Dallas early Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The 2.0-magnitude "microquake" struck at 12:11 a.m. and was centered northwest of Inwood Road and West Northwest Highway, near Preston Hollow.
No damage or injuries were reported.
It's the second recorded earthquake this year in Texas, experts say.
The first happened Tuesday at 11:04 a.m., centered 11 miles north of Amarillo. That earthquake had a 2.8 magnitude.
Microquakes (below 3 on the Richter scale) rarely cause damage and often are barely perceptible on the surface.
