Girls Softball holds Pink Out at last game

DeSoto, TX - In honor of many players loved ones who have battled breast cancer, the Lady Eagles Softball Team held a Pink Out game on April 19 which was also their last home game and Senior Night.

“The girls saw a smiliar event at Mesquite and really wanted to replicate it here for their loved ones,” said head coach Beth Schlidt. “I am very proud of them for wanting to give back to the community with a game to honor others. We may have struggled in the win and loss column, but we have seen our players mature into young ladies and are proud of each of them.”

The event included pink jerseys and a balloon release at dusk just before the game. The team hopes to expand the event to the entire district next year and to donate funds raised to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor and memory of the many loved ones across the district who have battled breast cancer.
