David Wilson - Cedar Hill

Good Food & Friends


David Wilson, who is a restaurant management veteran, has planned this restaurant for a number of years. Having been involved in the food industry for many years, David has much experience to bring to the table – General Manager for 13 years at Brennan’s in New Orleans and five years in the Brennan’s Dallas restaurant, as well as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer for Spaghetti Warehouse for eight years. He was recruited by an Applebee’s franchisee to lead their concept’s development, opening Applebee’s restaurants in the west.

After operating a business in Cedar Hill for Rockfish and getting to know the people in the area, David’s love of Dallas and the Best Southwest brought him back to the area in 2001.  He elected to start David’s Seafood Grill & Catering in Cedar Hill, and it is located at 350 E. FM 1382.  One does not have to go to the Gulf of Mexico to get great fresh seafood as David brings it to you right here in Cedar Hill.  He sources fish and seafood from the three coasts of the United States and other parts of the world receiving fresh shipments on most days of the week.  The menu has something for everyone.  There are blackboard specials, and if you have a favorite dish you had on a previous visit and it is not on the menu, just ask David, who is at the restaurant almost all the time, to have it prepared for you and your guests.

Wilson has served as President of the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association; he has also held positions up to First Vice President of the Texas Restaurant Association. For a number of years he served as Bailli of the Chaine de Rotisseurs, a premier international food and wine society.

The restaurant is open for lunch Friday through Sunday and offers smaller portions of seafood specialties as well as soups, salads, sandwiches and po’ boys. There is a children’s menu available. David’s method of cooking for lunch and dinner is towards the style of N’awlins where he honed his culinary talents working with international chefs. The site is large enough to have banquets, Chamber monthly events and private lunches for businesses. If you don’t have time to dine in, you can order takeout, and David is known throughout the Best Southwest for his delightful cuisine as he caters many events.
