Three Exemplary Cedar Hill Schools Honored by T.E.A.

Cedar Hill, TX - Three Cedar Hill elementary schools were honored Tuesday May 4, 2010 as being Distinguished Title 1 Campuses by the Texas Education Agency.  The school principals were among 129 elementary and 4 middle school principals in North Texas who were honored.  They were treated to lunch at the Maggiano's Little Italy at Northpark Center in Dallas.

The campuses reached Distinguished Title 1 Campus status by maintaining an exemplary rating while having at least 40 percent of their students qualify for free or reduced lunch

We believe that hard work, high expectations, and outstanding student achievement are essential for recognition like this," said Bray Elementary Principal Robert Johansen.  "We are exemplary because students, staff, parents, and community all work together striving for the ultimate goal of student success."

"High Pointe has adopted a school-wide theme of challenging our students to be a "Lone Star Student Shining Brighter than the Rest", said High Pointe Elementary Principal Karen Crow. "This means in everything that our students do, from academics to citizenship, we expect them to give their best so that their light will shine and be an example to all those around them."

"As stated in our mission the teachers and staff at Waterford Oaks Elementary are truly committed to providing a quality education for every child everyday whatever it takes!" said Waterford Oaks Principal Violet Maxwell.  "Our success is due to the commitment and dedication of the staff, the hard work of the students and the support of our parents and community."
